Guess What I am up to?? ;)

well that was an easy clue

I am afraid I am not very good at this

another obvious clue, eh?

ok these babies won’t help you at all…

but aren’t they sweet …

This baby might give you a clue..

but don’t mess with his mama or his papa!

We are soaking up God’s beautiful creation

and all the creatures that come across our path!

Bliss!

I will be back soon I promise!

See you later this week!

Blessings!

Camp Sparkle Day 3 – the final hours!

a few young ladies

a mom or two …

will do

a few blank  canvases

paper

scissors

ribbons

buttons

a little paint

all being transformed

with a little help from the magic collage pauge

these little ladies

now hold priceless works of art!

Happy young ladies!

After 3 busy crafty fun filled days…

I am one tired momma!

oh ~ but it didn’t stop me …

the days fun was not done!

a little parent child soccer scrimmage game anyone?

the coach with his daughter…

aka my hubs with my daughter!  =)

The last game of the season was Monday night…

for the league Abby plays in …

One of our mom’s suggested we play parents against soccer girls instead of an end of the season “pizza” party… SO brilliant!  Good to be out and active instead of eating all that cheese!!  right?  right…

I scored a goal on the soccer field for the first time in my life tonight!!

does it count if I scored it against a bunch of 10 year old girls??

Stop laughing at me!!  =)

The girls beat us parents by a couple goals… I am sure we weren’t “too easy” on them!!  =)

Alrighty good then…

anyone interested in seeing those tie dye shirts we made?!

yep… had to do that today too!  =)

rinse, rinse, rinsed, soaked in vinegar, washed and dried now!

Beautiful!!   colorful!  cheery!

The kids can’t wait to wear them!

tomorrow I am switching gears for a little beach fun coming up!!

Bliss I tell you pure bliss!

I heart the beach!

I tell ya all about it tomorrow!

ta ta for now…

my pillow is calling!

Camp Sparkle Day 2 ~

Butterfly Butterfly

Happy all Day!

Today we sewed Butterflies ~ Adorable ~ simple ~ Darling Butterflies!

A Beautiful Craft I found on another blog

and have forgotten where I found it!!

Oh NO!!

Please Please…

if I found this idea on your blog

comment and I will shout you out!!  =)

*** Update ***  It was Jill from A Pocket Full of Posies ***

That is where I found this Wonderful craft idea!

*sigh*

I am hopeless!

(I think my little chick is a happy camper this week!)  =)

anyway…

the girlys loved doing this project

at our very own Camp Sparkle!

They traced, sewed, giggled and laughed all day!

The butterflies turned out darling!!

I think they  would have stayed all day

and the butterflies would have multiplied!!

another grown up would have been nice to tie knots and such…

I got a little stressed at times trying to keep up with them!!

I will plan that better next time … =)

but we laughed it off…

or maybe eating the Pioneer Woman’s  Texas Sheet Cake made it all better?!

And Then there was Merlin

well…

you all know he HAD to be involved too!

*sigh*

wanna see what he did today?

he stole a tracing pattern…

no biggie…

we had tons.

but I don’t have tons of this!!!   grrrr……..

naughty puppy!

there are days..

when I threaten to take him back to where we got him…

and ask for an older model!

He also chewed a flip flop (no picture)

and he escaped out the back door TWICE!!

again no picture ~

I was busy looking for him the speedy little sucker!

that is his new trick ~

bolting out the back door!!

grrr……….

these little rascals didn’t help…

they are the ones who left the door open!!

All is Well…

every one was happy and HERE at the end of it all!  =)

speaking of the end.

THE END.

I am tired.

Whipped.

I should be in bed.

no fancy writing tonight (this morning)

Oh ~ yes I am a night owl… a stupid one… =)

really Good night.

The End!

Camp Sparkle Day 1 ~

Inspired by Nancy at The Goat and the Kid ~

we are now officially in full swing of Camp Sparkle!  =)

After seeing Nancy’s posts about hosting a fun little craft week which she called Camp Cre8 Sparkle

I knew right away that I wanted to do something similar while my niece would be staying with us this summer!

What a great idea Nancy!!  Thank you!

My little girl invited few of her girlys

Who are joining us for a few days of fun and crafts ~

of which we started today!

Today …

today was tie dye… Oh My!

the colors

so bright and beautiful!

giggle, giggle…

one of the girlys made a monkey shaped tie dye twisted shirt…

snicker, snicker…

forgot to tell her I love monkeys

mind you …

if she looked around my kitchen…

anywho…

I invited my sister Linda…

Sister Linda was a HUGE help today!

I would not have survived tie dye day without her!!

Thank you sister!!!

we used spray bottles and squeeze bottles

from 2 kits I purchase more than a year ago!!  =)

*sigh* at least I finally got around to using them this time!

while I am confessing my um…

bad habits? weaknesses?  blond moves?

in my not so intelligent moments today

I (we) did not wear gloves that were supplied in the tie dye kit

so my (our)  hands got a little … uh…

colorful !

The kids had a GREAT time

everyone was smiling ALL DAY long

love that!!

see his sweet little grin while he worked!

They all seemed proud of their work

and I love loved all of the laughter

it was a FUN day

and some of us even got a little crazy …

this little crazy was teaching me to rap dance properly

apparently….

or somethin…

=)

of course Merlin HAD to be involved somehow

he did get a little dye on his paws

and tried to pull a few things off the tie dye table

but we were a little too messy to get pics…

so you’ll have to settle for the one of him running off with the container =)

Today… this is what we accomplished…

tie dye city

and a few Happy Campers!

Want to know what we are doing tomorrow?

You didn’t think I was really going to tell you did you?  =)

I will show you what I made to snack on…

any guesses on exactly what it is??

snicker snicker…

I am so mean…

I know…

I can’t  help myself!  =)

busy busy day & a late night right now…

tomorrow about 2 pm PST I will have some free time…

I hope to come visit y’all then!

one at a time of course!

ta ta for now!

Jenn~

If you were camping or on a road trip…

What kind of food do you bring?

What is your favorite food to take camping?

Do you have any on the road food secrets?

Just wondering…

say maybe if you were to plan a 7 day camping trip…

down the coast or somethin…

and this was your lodging…

hypothetically what would you cook?

what would your cooler have in it?

while you were hypothetically camping on the coast…

for 7 days…

Just curious…. 😉

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So not to change the subject abruptly or anything…
The next two weeks are a little on the crazy busy side…
I might hafta hang my “Gone Fishin” sign up if it gets too heck-tick
There might be some camp sparkle craft fun happening…
(idea stolen from Nancy at The Goat and the Kid)
this will need further attention after the sparkle takes place!!  =)
maybe a niece will be visiting for a few days…
maybe friends and family will be coming and going…
we might be wrapping up summer soccer…
there are Definitely beaches to visit…
just a little summer fun all packed into the next two weeks…
and of course…
just as life is about to get crazy busy…
This guy…
decides to have 24 hours of really disgusting… um… well… urgent outings have been taking place for the last 24 hours… and since he only likes to go in the front yard… the dog has been SPRINTING to the front  yard after frantically scratching my door down to a thin layer of glass… so …Normally when I leave the house Merlin is fine in his crate for a few hours… I will spare you details… lets just say his crate also needed a good cleaning after I spent a couple hours in the dental chair today …not to mention the aroma in my house…  fantastic!.. If you are the prayin type… please pray this guy improves quickly and does not need to see the vet…. AGAIN… I am seriously going to come unglued!! one thing after another with this guy… seriously?!!?
oh…
and just for fun…
This little “lady”
brought us a dead chipmonk … IN the house …today…
which Merlin promptly carried around in his mouth for a few seconds…
before my hero rescued the dead chipmonk from being chewed to bits…
and tossed it into the woods just behind the house OUTSIDE where it belongs!
eeeeeeeeeeew!
ANIMALS!!!  seriously … why do we bring these disgusting creatures to live in our homes with us??  =)  *sigh*
never a dull moment folks… never…
now if you will excuse me…
My pillow is calling!
TTFN ~ Jenn
(ta ta for now)
Stacy and Clinton would not approve…
I can splain Lucy!  =)
I am in the land of comfort heaven!
a weird sort of bliss has taken over my soul!!
you see
Back in high school… in the late 80’s… these are what I lived in…
BOYS… Mens… Levis 501 jeans…
**thump, thump, thump**
do you hear my heart beating??
I’m just sayin… Stacy and Clinton would not approve…
of me in those boy pants…
but I don’t care!
I don’t see them offering me a credit card
so I can wear what I want, right?
You see… This chick…
and I went shopping…
b/c that is what I do when my Canadian friends  come to visit…
(its true)     First we buy cheese… then we shop for clothes… in that order  =)
its ok…I didn’t mind… I was in desperate need of some new clothes…
(I don’t want to talk about it… I’m just sayin… it was time!)
So….After buying an insane amount of butter
and Tillamook Cheese… (I heart Tillamook Cheese!)
what can I say… My friend…she is a smart woman… Tillamook Cheese is the BEST… and it is less dollars than the cheese you can buy in BC…. She  bought cheese for her mom & sisters too.. It really is VERY funny to purchase 12 two pound blocks of cheese and 12 lbs. of butter all at once!  =)
ok… moving on…
After trying on an insane amount of clothing… all I came home with was 5 pairs of jeans…. 2 jean shorts, 2 jean capri pants and 1 pair of BUTTON Fly Levis 501 blue jeans… be still my heart!  I might not even wear the others… even though they are all Levis… I might have to live in my 501’s this summer… just because my tooshie has not been so cozy since I can’t remember when… and I love ripping those button flys open the way they do… it is a sickness… If I drink more water…. =)
You would have giggled or laughed so hard you peed  (or called the nerd police)  at that moment when you saw me find those in the store!!   I am sure I acted like a 2 year old in a candy store!  I was thrilled to find my size… and nope… I am not sharing the size of my tooshie with y’all
and since all I own are solid colored t-shirts…
the classic 501’s will be fashionable with them… right!?!
perfect!
OK… I am done …
but… I can’t help it…I am so IN LOVE … I love love my 501’s!
boys… button fly… blue jeans…
*sigh*
giggle…
wink…
I might even sleep in them.
maybe.
(dang I wish it wasn’t so hot outside!)  =)
OK  OK…
I really am done now.
Once upon a time….Lewis stole my heart too…
Before Merlin…
the mischievous lovable mutt we adore!
there was Lewis…
Lewis stole my heart
Lewis was a “purebred” Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
We purchased Lewis on February 2, 2009 from a “hobby breeder”
(huge mistake please don’t ever buy from back yard breeders !)
Lewis quickly stole our hearts…
(I know I know… he LOOKS like Merlin! that was not planned)
He was an adorable puppy…
always CHEWING… and into every thing … =)
We loved him… he was a beautiful happy puppy…
but… He had a few signs of aggression (not heard of AT ALL  in this breed) *sigh*
we figured it was the “leader of the pack” thing… and we could train him…
as we loved on the little guy…
we realized more and more he was a “loose cannon” …
we could not trust him with anyone…
he only trusted me…
and he was randomly aggressive, growling or nipping at others..
but he continued to steal our hearts, and play, and grow, and get into puppy trouble…
he was a happy tail wagger!  most of the time… =)
and we hoped he would grow out of his mild aggressiveness…maybe it was protectiveness…
He loved me…I was his person…  he loved the kids but was a bit aggressive towards them…
nipping and growling at them… and he growled at my husband a lot …
we hoped it was something we could train out of him…
we were puzzled…
He had an obsession with the hose water …
he always wanted me to “water” so he could play in it as it sprayed out of the hose… *special memories*
=(  no actual pictures or video of him doing his hose thing… *sigh*
and of course he played with Ned…
Lewis was Ned’s first puppy friend…
(Ned is Merlin’s regular playmate… for those of you who haven’t been around much!)  😉
We “knew” something was not right with Lewis…
he curled himself up like this a lot
he nipped at himself a lot
he nipped and growled more and more as he grew
the training was not helping with that… (though he did obey other commands really well)
I started googling and reading… and I started to realize it was probably a rare brain disorder I found…
my heart sank as each week passed…our puppy was probably suffering …
he was our baby…
by July we had visited 3 vets… all of whom told us he needed to be put down…
the last vet is a Cavalier owner himself…
by July we realized the “right” thing to do was “lay him to rest”…
his brain was sick… he was having nerve pain…he was getting worse not better…
he was our baby… it was SAD and horrible…
So… We took him to the beach ~ our happy place ~ for his last weekend with us~
he watched the kids play…
and he was so gentle that day…
he watched the kids dig…
and he dug too… *sweet sweet memory*
he loved his weekend at the beach…  =)
On July 13, 2009 …
Lewis was “laid to rest”at 8 months old… I still miss that little guy!!!
he will forever be a part of my heart!!
and though I feel really silly sharing this post…
Something in me had to honor him today!
is this weird?!  am I weird??   (don’t answer that!!  ha ha)  =)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Though everyone advised us NOT to get another puppy right away…

we just couldn’t bear the thought of our kids thinking  of last summer as the summer they lost their puppy…

so we went against the grain and looked for a new puppy…

Merlin joined our family Aug 31, 2009…. just a month and a half after we lost Lewis…

(talk about guilt! ~  don’t worry I will deal with it in therapy !!)

seriously …

We are blessed to have found Merlin …

our  new puppy love… though he looks a lot like Lewis…

he does have a completely different personality…

now Merlin has stolen our hearts…

and We love our  “new” 1 year old puppy !!  =)

and in memory of my first puppy (since childhood)…

today I am going to water my lawn the way Lewis used to like it…

with the yellow hose instead of the sprinkler!  =)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
oh… and just a funny “note”…. Merlin is Terrified of water!!
he runs like a little girl and hides when I turn the hose on!!  =)
makes me laugh every time… poor little chicken!  =)
The winner is…
Wait a sec…
Vanna  is drawing the winners name…
out of the lovely empty kleenex box…
one day I will do a post on 101 ways to use an empty kleenex box…
