One more day

to sew the waist on my little girls jeans

a little slimmer than slim…

(I wish I had that problem…being slimmer than slim!)

one more day

until I need to fill  little girls back pack

and her lunch box

and send her off to school.

5th grade already?

Can’t I have 2 more days?

*sigh*  =)

school starts tomorrow.

the weather is cold.

it is Fall.

It is Time to embrace it!

*sigh*

Secret.

September is actually my Favorite month of the year!!

I am just not ready for it this year.

odd!!??

what is wrong with me this year?  =)

I guess I better clean out the school work bins today as well…

the ones we collect completed school work in

little girl is going to start bringing home papers in her back pack!

what on earth?

Nana how on earth did you get in there?!

This photo was taken yesterday…=)

I can’t believe I did not clean those bins out all summer long!

too busy travelin, campin, playin, bein lazy and well…

I don’t want to talk about last week anymore!!

*shudder*

anyway!

We collect all the school work in those bins …

or should I call them cat beds?

Slowly we fill them up each week when the kids complete school work

and when the year is done

I go through them…

I keep the fun stuff like writing, stories, art…

and recycle all the not so fun school work!

Usually I do that the first couple weeks of summer!

oops!

It is fun to go through and read all the stories they have written over the years!  =)

I guess I have one more day

until

I teach 2nd grade to Sammy!!

I NEED to get myself organized…

home school starts tomorrow as well!

Good bye camping.  good bye beaches.  goodbye parks.  good bye lazy mornings.

Good bye swim lessons.  good bye hot summer nights.  good bye sunshine.

(I live in Washington after all)  ha ha!   Good bye summer… sniff…

What do you all do with all the papers, art & stuff that your kids bring home?

What do you keep?  how do you store it? or display it?  =)

Alrighty good then… time to get moving….

busy day ahead!

better get to all those last minute things!

Happy Fall y’all!

(trying to get in the mood!)

Jenn~

Happy Happy Fall! I love Fall. Except for I don’t feel ready for it this year either. Ugh. Oh well… it comes whether I’m ready for it or not, and I’m ok with that. Hope you’re feeling better!

It’s hot here again, so I’m super jealous. :o)

Praying it’s a wonderful school year!

Hot here, too! We usually stay pretty warm well through to October, but maybe this year will be different. I’m jealous of everyone enjoying their fall weather. I’ve even seen where a lot of gals have been decorating for fall already. Hard for me to get there when my electric bill is still insanely high from the a/c running all the time. hahah!

hot here, but that is our normal until late October. I wish I had to take in my slim pants… wait I wish I fit in slim pants… lol

hope everyone has a great school year

September is one of my favorite months also. I love the whole going back to school idea. And boy, do I wish I had to take in the waist on some jeans. It seems mine is expanding by the day!

    Hugs to you.

I found the coolest blog once that had a great system. She kept a folder file with each kids name on it in her office…then she would put their papers in it for the year (the keepers) and then at the end of each year write “5th” grade on it and put it in a file box for each one. So at the end of there school years she has a box..all neatly filed by grade for each child. She kept special things like notes and letters to and from mom and dad etc…too!!

It is on my planner to do this. Hmmm….now would probably be a good time to start!

    Hope you are feeling better!

I love September too…although this year it’s been a little too chilly for my liking! I love the pic of the cat in the school box….so cute!

I used to take one piece of artwork a year and shrink it in a copier to 8.5×11 or 5×7 and frame it. Bridge still has some of that displayed in her room. Some are matted & framed. Aaron got rid of his…he’s too “cool.”

School here started the 1st. Sigh. And, now that high school’s in the picture, Aaron comes home every day with “this teacher” or “that teacher says I need this or that supply by tomorrow…” Ugh! Tonight I had to run out for index cards. I need to restock my office supplies!!!! I usually have a good supply of them in my basement. Time to look for those sales…

I am in full fall mode and loving it.
I am no good with the school paperwork….I hang on to it until it gets overwhelming and then I toss most of it.
Hope she has a great year!

Happy fall to you too! We keep papers in a 3 ring binder – one binder for each year. 8th,3rd,kg., and 3yr.old here:) BTW my bro. lives in Washington State/wonderful place for all the outdoor things you love!

I have to say I LOVE fall…something about it just makes me grin ear to ear! Hope the first day of back to routines wasn’t to painful. As for all the paper…I toss most and keep the special stuff filed away.

Good luck with the new school year. My daughter is really thin too. It is hard to find jeans that stay up. I usually make sure I get ones with an adjustable waist because I can not sew.

  • 14 Julianne yazmış:

what if you got a large expandable file folder for all their important pieces? you could organize it by year. just a thought! good luck with 5th grade. I taught 2nd last year…it’s a fun year…lots of growth!
