Green Makes Me Happy~
It has been one of those weeks…
so busy my head is spinning…
I have not been here …
or visiting you all very much this week…
Soccer started a couple weeks ago…
Taxi mom has been using more gas lately…
and
Sammy’s school changes classes every 11 weeks…
cool stuff… love that he can take a variety of classes…
every 11 weeks our schedule changes…
we are getting used to our new routine…
and
of course…
I had some paperwork to take care of…
So today Mr. McFunny took the day off work …
bless his heart…
to be Mr. Dad for the whole day…
So I could I turn this stack of workbooks…
into this pile…
of large print copies…
I copied all that today!!!
yikes!
earlier this week I found a few extra hours to copy these books…
so I have been assembling these little large print books…
all week…
look at this stack…
a little daunting…
just a smidge! =)
it is Refreshing to be 1/2 way done…
most of the copying is nearly finished …
just a few more books to enlarge…
Until next year… =)
so…
Since I was feeling a little overwhelmed this week…
I made a few plans to cheer myself up…
before I hit the copy machine!
You see Green makes me happy…
When I was in Pier 1 last week …
I found this…
so I slipped out of the house a little early…
to go and buy 2 of these cute little GREEN birdie plates today…
as inspiration…
we’ll get back to that…
After a quick trip to Pier 1 …
I went to lunch…
in downtown Olympia…
There are a few funky murals and paintings scattered around town…
It gives Olympia character…
I like this one…
a vintage phone …
and cell phones…
and puzzle pieces??
and payphones….
and a clock…
there is always time to stay connected…
Phones help us stay in touch with loved ones…
My lunch today…
was with a very dear friend…
whom I do not stay in very good touch with…
but there is a special bond between us…
I met her in downtown Olympia… =)
in March of 1987…
yikes… 23 years ago? gasp!
You see … I was her nanny when I was 17 years old!
crazy!
anyway…
we talked, we laughed and I cried (big baby that I am!) =)
next time I won’t let 2 years pass before we have lunch again! =)
I am thankful we have maintained our friendship all these years…
I smiled the rest of my day…
Lunch with someone you cherish will do that… =)
I was even smiling while I was standing at the stupid amazing copy machine that enables my son to see his school work clearly… for 2 1/2 hours today!
So … I also planned something fun after visiting Mr. Copier…
I figured I needed to be cheerful before and after my visit with that stupid fabulous machine…
Green Paint really makes me happy…
it is weird …
I know!
I have been trying to pick the perfect green paint for my kitchen…
for way way too long…
so I went to Home Depot…
determined to come home with green paint in hand!
I hate this part!!
who knew there could be so many different shades of one color….
Really!?? I have to pick one…
what if it isn’t the right one…
$35. a gallon…
the pressure to pick the right one…
=)
I think I may have it narrowed down…
maybe!
I have a few green things …
that I love…
that I can get inspiration from…
I love love this rug!
and this adorable tea pot
(please don’t look too closely at the cob webs on it!! )
it was a wedding gift…
and we chipped it …
so we put it up high to look at for a while…
I think it is time to dust off the cob webs and use it again?
I love green …
it gives me explainable joy…
I mean really…
look at the color of my blog…
I did not realize how much green I buy…
I even have green shoes, sweaters, handbags and purses!
this was a lovely gift from our neighbors…
after we house sat their kitty for 2 weeks…
while they were in Italy (sigh)
I love it…
I think she saw my tea pot and color matched it!?! =)
or I am just that lucky! ha ha!
I needed this green box…
it holds my garlic right now…
I painted the kids bathroom in this beautiful pale green …
it is called rejuvenate..
you see…
After I painted my bedroom this color first…
I needed to have another green room…
I like green …
it makes me happy…
and
I like to paint…
especially when I am in a twit…
it relaxes me…
weird … I know!
so though I wanted to have a paint roller in my hand tonight…
I will have to settle for the green birdie plate… tonight…
maybe tomorrow I will sneak back to Home Depot…
and just pick one already!
wish me luck!

Yay for painting, and you go mom! I think green is a deliciously relaxing color. New paint is refreshing. By the way, I dedicated a song to you on my blog…=)

Whew…that’s a lot of paper and printer ink! At least it’s done for now. As for the paint-color thing….I have trouble making decisions like that. I usually end up closing my eyes and randomly pointing. Good luck!
